Assistant chef

Full-time

The primary role of this position is to assist the Sous Chef with the smooth running
of the kitchen dining hall by preparing quality food that meets the highest standards
of service and customer satisfaction. The incumbent will also assist the Sous Chef
to consistently improve the utilization of the kitchen dining hall to maximise the
revenue generated by the dining hall.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• A relevant three-year Diploma or equivalent.
• Any relevant tertiary qualification in Professional Cookery, Culinary Studies or
other relevant qualification will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Commis or Junior Chef.
• At least 3 years’ experience working in a fast paced kitchen environment.
• Experience in mass catering will be an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Assist in menu planning and costing.
• Food preparation.
• Kitchen hygiene, health and safety hazards.
• Perform any other duties as delegated by the Line Manager.
