Appointment Requirements:
 Degree/Bachelor’s in Project Management/Computer Science/Business or related field (NQF level
7);
 6 – 8 years’ working experience in Project Management of which 4 years is at middle
management level;
 Knowledge of related policies and legislation governing the process of Project Management;
 Project Management Professional certification preferred;
 Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies and best practice;
 Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope and budget;
 Computer literacy (MS Office); and
 Valid driver’s licence will be an advantage.
Primary Function: Facilitate and manage the initiation, planning, implementation monitoring,
controlling and closure of development of Integrated Human Settlements’ Projects.
Key Performance Areas: Plan, manage and define the scope of the project in collaboration with
senior management. Initiate Human Settlement Development. Plan and implement Human
Settlement Development. Build and maintain strong relations with internal and external business
units, entities, key stakeholders and peers to ensure correct focus and support around Housing.
Efficiently and effectively manage the operational assets and resources of the section cost effectively
in accordance with the legislative framework of the City Policies and procedures. Build and maintain

operational assets and resources of the Section cost effectively in accordance with the legislative
framework of the City’s policies and procedures. Maximise the productivity of PHP by optimising the
effectiveness of its employees in order to enable achievement of objectives of the Section and
manage the human resources thereof. Manage all aspects of the finance in the control of PHP
including but not limited to revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, in accordance with the
legislative framework as well as with the City’s policies and procedures. Provide quality reports on
the functions and performance of the PHP which are factual, accurate and complete, timely and
contributes to and supports the overall reporting requirements. Comply with all relevant legislative
framework including the City’s Code of Ethics, manage and mitigate risk effectively.
Leading Competencies: Ability to organise multiple high level tasks simultaneously. Facilitate
stakeholder engagements. Coordination skills.
Core Competencies: Confidentiality. Ability to work under pressure. High degree of interpersonal
skills to interact with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
