Case Administrator
Introduction
A vacancy has arisen for a Case Administrator at Life Cosmos Hospital, Mpumalanga reporting to the Patient Services Manager, Charmaine van As.  The position’s primary responsibilities include the efficient case management of the hospital patient with comprehensive updating of the relevant clinical information and the submission of a correctly coded accurate account within the set business target

 

Critical Outputs
  • Case management by updating information to the funders within service level agreement resulting in a reduction in short payments and rejection of accounts
  • Will be responsible for the managing and finalizing of the following cases: predictable, private, WCA, COID
  • Minimize financial risk through correct coding and applications of the RSRT modules
  • Maintain a high level of customer focus amongst all staff in the Department to the benefit of Hospital, Public and Doctors
  • Healthy liaison with all internal and external clients
  • Responsible for the management of Discharged not final billed reports
  • Responsible for the management of the CM and Credit control report
  • Electronic Claims submission
  • Electronic Claims rejection
  • Assist with the processes from preadmission through to submission of account
  • Assist General Case manager if needed
  • Assist General Case manager and Specialized CM on finalizing files
  • Control all theatre billing sheets before going into patients file
Requirements
  • Applicant must have a nursing qualification and have valid registration with the relevant regulatory body – EN or RN
  • Experience in case management essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage
