Credit Controller

Overall Job Function

The incumbent will be reporting into the Associate Manager: Credit and will be responsible for full function credit control on a regional basis


Job Responsibilities

  • The collection of all due debts
  • Dealing with external and internal queries, ensuring customers pay on time
  • Assist all internal customers with regards to credit and credit policies and procedures
  • Ensure all debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Daily allocation of payments and credit notes
  • Regularly making-contact-with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Identify changes in customer payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
  • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with Company’s policies
  • Undertake account reconciliations as required
  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
  • Daily/weekly updates on queries with internal and external customers
  • The provision of management reports and statistics
  • Total commitment of internal and external customer service
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service excellence
  • Able to work month end overtime when necessary

Job Requirements

  • Matric plus a tertiary qualification in credit management will be advantageous
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience in a credit capacity
  • Strong reconciliation ability
  • Computer literacy (MS Office and SAP)

  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Strong key accounts management ability

  • Above average numerical ability
