Digital Product Owner
A vacancy exists for a Digital Product Owner at Life Healthcare, Illovo Head Office. The successful candidate will report to the CIO, South Africa and be responsible for leading the development of a clinical management system. The incumbent must possess a clear vision for the future of user experiences and always advocate for the best possible solutions and will be responsible for the product success by defining, prioritizing and validating outputs to be performed.
Critical Outputs
  • Take full ownership of the product development
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end patient experience, integration and dependencies
  • Serve as the voice of the patient
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of the product
  • Draft objectives and key results, strategies for the product
  • Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the platform
  • Represents team in front of stakeholders, patients or users
  • Work closely with product management and senior management to create a platform that delivers on the company’s strategy
  • Work with internal and external customers to analyse the needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals
  • Own the product roadmap
  • Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
  • Accountable for the created product, delivering in the product model and communicating the product needs with business partners
  • Develop appropriately detailed specifications for the product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams
  • Be the bridge between all stakeholders and the development team
  • Evaluate the development progress at the end of every sprint to ensure delivery of defined use cases that meet the business expectations
  • Develop scope and define backlog items (epic/features/user stories) that guide the Agile software development team
  • Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments
  • Research and analyse market, the users, and the roadmap for the product.
  • Follow our competitors and the industry
  • Increase understanding of Agile practices, Lean Start Up and new technology opportunities across the organisation
  • A related post graduate qualifications and certifications in information systems.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a Senior Product Owner and/or business analyst role in an agile software development environment including a strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies, user stories, and iterative development.
  • Agile Certification advantageous, e.g., CSPO.
  • Understanding of Healthcare industry is desirable.
  • Technical & digitally savvy
