My client, a successful wholesale company with offices all over South Africa is seeking to employ a Sales Representative for the branch in Port Elizabeth. Previous experience in in the FMCG environment will be an advantage.
The Sales Representative is tasked with achieving maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned customer base by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services.
Personally, contact, and secure new business accounts and customers.
Handle customer complaints
Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals to be presented to the sales manager on a weekly basis.
Utilise on daily basis Skynamo as a tool for all sales activities and maintain and update all information required relating to the customer database, sales activities, and personal movement.
Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to the appropriate Company staff.
Present and sell Company products and services to current and potential clients.
Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts.
Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
Follow-up for collection of payment.
Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of merchandise and services.
Provide on-the-job training to new sales employees.
Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-ups.
Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales.
Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce stock.
Assist in the implementation of Company marketing plans as needed.
Ensure monthly sales targets are achieved as a set and agreed with the Sales Manager.
Act as the first point of contact with regards to customer queries.
Liaise with relevant telesales clerk daily to ensure customer relationships are optimally managed and queries are resolved promptly.
Assist the sales team as operationally required.
At least 2 years’ experience in sales
