Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the financial wellbeing of Oxbridge Academy and profitability and managing governance and risk. Analyses and reports monthly and annual results, effects cost savings and participates in strategic financial planning and the achievement of targets and budgets. Advises and supports Oxbridge Academy MD and other Managers in Oxbridge Academy on financial matters

Key Performance Areas:

Ensure relevant information is gathered and prepares the financial plan, annually, for approval by the MD.

Provides support to Managers during the budget compilation process, including CAPEX budgeting and planning.

Prepare forecasts and projections, quarterly and communicate same to MD.

Provide proactive financial support, advice and solutions to the Management team.

Keep abreast of developments/trends in economy and advises MD accordingly.

Responsible for feasibility studies for new offerings and drafting feasibility motivations.
Reviews and advises on profitability.
Reviews and proposes fees in line with the strategy.

Compile the annual budget/s for Oxbridge Academy and update this as required.

Monitor and track performance against budget and liaise with the MD in this regard.

Manage variances in actual vs. budget expenditure in all areas of accountability.

Manages Capex, in line with budget and profitability ensuring accurate completion and proper authorization.

Implement an appropriate financial reporting and cash flow management plan to support the achievement of the strategy.

Collate and analyse financial performance information.

Ensure reports are produced accurately and disseminated timeously monthly, quarterly and annually.

Monitor cash flow, weekly and advise MD accordingly.

Manages BEEE reporting for Oxbridge Academy to ADvTECH.

Ensures the preparation and reviews monthly management accounts.
Review monthly MANCO report.
Review GL recons for all accounts and prepare a risk analysis and action report.

Ensure that adequate policies and procedures are in place to mitigate risks, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance to legislative, regulatory and good governance requirements and standards.

Ensure company financial policies and procedures are adhered to.

Oversee the audit process (Internal and external) and provides relevant information and support to auditors as required. Deals with queries, as necessary, and escalates matters when required.

Sign off monthly audit files and ensure all month/year end journals are processed.

Approve expenditure and in line with authorisation matrix.

Ensure timeous submission of statutory returns.

Takes appropriate action to remedy audit findings and limit the risk and monitors progress.

Ensure Management and relevant staff are au fait with/trained regarding financial policies and procedures.

Identify financial risks in Oxbridge Academy and advise MD accordingly.

Recommend and implement action to mitigate risk and advise MD and Management accordingly.

Identify and prepare reports on Risk Management as required.

Ensure staff roles and responsibilities are clarified and performance objectives set and monitored. Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policy and procedure and take corrective action as required.

Ensure employment equity targets are achieved.

Ensure identification of critical skills essential for sustainability of service delivery to the brand.

Ensure staff are adequately trained.

Define and scope projects in accordance with business needs as and when required.

Ensure thorough investigation, information gathering and identification of cost saving opportunities to enable decision making.

Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing and terms & conditions of service.

Make recommendations for continuous improvement.
