Sasol Mining operates six coal mines that supply feedstock for our Southern African integrated value chain. The coal supplied to Secunda Synfuels Operations (SSO) is mainly used as gasification feedstock and some is used to generate electricity. The coal supplied to Sasolburg Operations (SO) is used to generate electricity and steam. We also export coal from the Twistdraai Export Plant to international power generation customers via the Richards Bay Coal Terminal.



A General Worker (Brush cutter operator) supports the services department with the cutting of grass next to SCS conveyors systems



1. Responsible for cutting grass and maintain fire prevention standards

2. Responsible for safe operation of equipment

3. Complete job specific task and checklist accurately

4. Visual inspection of working environment ensuring safety standards are adhered to and reporting any unsafe conditions to Supervisor

5. Application of job specific SOP’s and COP’s to ensure housekeeping standards are upheld

6. Function efficiently and effectively as part of a team to work towards achieving Team Goals

7. Sensitive on how your actions affect the cost of your Team and identify and act on cost saving initiatives

8. Report all task activities



Pre-Employment Checks

1. Able to obtain a Medical Certificate of Fitness

2. Able to obtain security clearance

3.Previous experience of working with a brush cutter will be to your advantage

A full Grade 12 or N3 or NCV Level 4.

Previous experience will be to your advantage.
