TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Guesthouse and Functions Co-ordinator at Welverdiend Guesthouse Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Preparation and serving of food to guests – breakfast, lunch, dinner and functions
  • Maintaining accurate stock controls on food & Beverage and Rooms stock items.
  • Design menus for functions and conferences
  • Assist Guesthouse Manager with reservations for Guesthouse and Functions
  • Maintain best guest service standards at all times
  • Assist Guesthouse Manager in creating memorable moments at Welverdiend
  • Interact with guests
  • Assist Guesthouse Manager with daily management of staff – housekeeping and groundkeepers
  • Make reservations on the property management system
  • Assist Guesthouse manager with guest arrivals and checkouts
  • Train staff in food preparation
  • Report any faults on property to Guesthouse manager
  • Sourcing quality food ingredients at affordable prices
  • Stand in for Guesthouse manager when he is off property or on leave
  • Oversee laundry at main house and self-catering units
  • Ensure overall tidiness of property including garden
  • Willing to work over weekends
  • Must be able to live on property due to nature of service delivery

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience within the hospitality/catering industry and/or qualification in Hospitality.
  • Passion for hospitality industry
  • Must be able to work irregular hours
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Work well within a team and be able to be managed and follow instructions from manager
  • Ability to work long hours on your feet
  • Must have exceptional hygiene habits
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity at all time
  • High level of emotional intelligence working with colleagues and guests
  • Maintain structured working environment
