Job Description

Excellent opportunity for HR Manager to utilize HR skills and experience to establish a new HR Department.

This organized, assertive, self-starter, who can work at all levels and across several departments with the respective Department/Unit Heads, will be required to:

  • Build on the existing practices, with the use of an already developed HR Framework, to establish a fully-fledged HR Unit
  • Recruit, support and develop talent through developing policies and managing procedures in line with the Company vision and mission.
  • Related administration.
  • Provide excellent assistance and support to employees and managers.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Work closely with various departments, assisting line managers to understand and implement policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management
  • Develop HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements
  • Recruit staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and assist in selecting candidates
  • Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues
  • Assist in performance management and employee evaluation
  • Maintain employee records (leave, attendance) according to policy and legal requirements
  • Identify KPIs for HR department
  • Collect and analysing employee data via internal surveys to measure employer satisfaction and develop talent retention strategies.
  • Create and implement effective onboarding plans
  • Prepare staff handbooks
  • Looking after the health, safety compliance and welfare of all employees
  • Develop and Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers and develop training and team building programs
  • Providing counselling on policies and procedures
  • Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits
  • Undertake regular salary reviews
  • Manage redundancy programmes
  • Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts and redundancy packages
  • Interpret and advise on employment law
  • Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Get involved and oversee yearly BEEE audits
  • Submission of CAPEX requirements budgets and keep within HR budget
  • To be able to submit WSP(workplace skill plan)/ART (annual training report)on a yearly basis
  • Develop and design strategy plan for risk elimination/reduction within the company
  • Work with Management to coordinate Events and weekly/monthly staff meetings
  • Update company Organizational Chart

Qualifications & experience required:

  • BSc/BA in business administration, social studies or relevant field
  • Proven experience as HR Officer/Generalist
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of VIP and Uniclox is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with BEEE audits
  • Knowledge and experience with WSP/ATR submissions
