Purpose of Role
This is a specialised role within the Human Resources structure and responsible for end-to-end management of Human Resources. The HR officer role forms an integral part of the Operational Management team, with the responsibility of ensuring the effectiveness of the human resources within the mine. The incumbent is responsible for HR Service delivery to the production manager, MRM Manager, Engineering manager and other Support Service officials. The incumbent must ensure that systems, policies and procedures are adhered to. Co-ordinate and enable outputs with other system managers within the mine and support the optimization of the HR function.
Technical work responsibilities:
Compliance with policies and procedures for a specific Human Resources system; HR efficiency analysis; Organisational effectiveness at the Operation; Provide advice, guidance and support to employees and line managers on a broad range of people related matters, HR issues including the interpretation of policies, procedures and terms and conditions of employment, resourcing and workforce planning; and effective utilisation of the performance review process; Monitor and Audit the Sage X 3, and HR process regularly to ensure conformance to and understanding of standards and procedures to close the gaps in HR; Keep accurate and complete Labour information; Manage HR filing and other employees records; Compilation of HR reports including but not limited to Labour availability, Attendance, Leave, Employment Equity, Business Reviews and other adhoc reports.

Effective systems management of all Human Resources functions / processes ; Good employee relations ; Effective application of necessary administration system; Support the HR management team; Communicate process problems to necessary people in order to resolve them; deal with constraints up and down stream as it impacts on the system; Ensure effective manning of jobs and teams according to approved plans; Maintain up-to-date information on people movement including incapacity, promotions, terminations, and transfers; Provides independent support on a range of Labour Management issues in conjunction with the relevant HR Coordinator, Managers and Supervisors; Actively participate in various support meetings e.g. monthly meetings, Departmental team meetings, and Adhoc meetings; Submission of HR weekly and monthly reports; Timeous submission of payroll inputs; Management and submission of performance management report to payroll department
