The King David School in Armadale is seeking a dynamic and passionate Music Teacher who is able to inspire students through classroom practice, refined professional knowledge and a commitment to high performance. This is a 0.50 replacement position for 2022 only, with a strong possibility of ongoing employment.

The ideal candidate would be able to combine their teaching skills with the ability to coordinate musical performances, including instrumental music program, choirs and ensembles, which provides for a 0.40 time allowance.

However, the School will consider applications for the separate roles as well.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Qualifications and experience teaching Music across Years 6-12
  • Demonstrated track record of student success
  • Ability to inspire young people through contemporary Music Education
  • Strong knowledge of VCAA curriculum, VCE assessment practices and marking processes, including developments with Australian Curriculum implementation.
  • A high level of expertise in own instrument/voice specialisation.
  • Experience in directing and leading ensembles to produce high quality performances.
  • A demonstrated desire to integrate technology into your teaching and to engage students in the learning process.
