Responsible for setting up, developing and maintaining networks within the IT infrastructure using a wide range of complex IT infrastructures and technologies
Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support
To interpret both business and technical requirements and develop solutions accordingly
Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards
Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the customer environment
To be able to work across all infrastructure technology domains and collaborate with Product teams to help create network solutions
Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments using information from multiple sources
Report network operational status by gathering and prioritizing information and managing projects where required
Provide remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation
Provide onsite or remote access diagnoses and resolution of network using a highly integrated set of diagnostic tools and techniques
Stay on top of innovations in the network technology market in order to ensure we are ahead of business and regulatory needs

Security and Compliance
Adherence to PCI regulations
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access
Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security

Project Planning and Support
Facilitate technical planning network sessions with the Product team and customer
Drafting of network diagrams and proposals
Ensure that proposed solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer
Deliver related IT assessments to analyse customer environment and business requirements
Provide planning schedule for set up and testing of network infrastructure for customer

Customer Service
Develop successful relationships with sales team members, partners and customers while support the objectives of the sales team
Work with a product team to identify and gather requirements for solutions and continuous improvement

EDUCATION
Matric
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or related discipline

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 – 5 years of related experience
WAN / MPLS / IPSec Networks
Routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, VLAN, Trunking)
WAF / Loadbalancers
Cisco & Checkpoint firewall management
Cisco & HP switch management
Experience in the following fields would be beneficial:
Apache Tomcat
Unix / Linux server management
Microsoft SQL Server
Microsoft Windows Server / active directory management
PowerShell / scripting
MySQL Server
