Purpose of the position:
Responsible to ensure that all legal compliance requirements are met, as required by the Mine Health and Safety Act. Ensure and assure legal and other compliances to minimize risk, litigation exposure and adverse publicity. The day-to-day management and operation of activities within the designated area of responsibility.
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 plus COMSOC 1 & 2 SAMTRAC/SHEMTRAC or equivalent certificate
- Five years plus previous Safety and Health Experience, Incident/Accident Investigation Training and Legal Liability Training, five years plus experience with exposure to open cast mining
- Understand the requirements of the Mines, Health and Safety Act. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental requirements
- Legal appointee in terms of Section 7(4) read with Regulation 2.17.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act. Valid Driver’s License
