PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Responsible for the planning, implementation and reporting of training in the organisation, with SETA related duties and BBBEE verification process. The role will also coach and provide guidance on the application of all the skills development related regulations and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  1. Records compliance and technical training requirements in conjunction with the Skills Development Facilitator and Line Management for input into the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP)
  2. Schedule training that fits with the business cycles and works with site management to ensure business continuity
  3. Administer, track, and drive all Educational Assistance (Bursaries and Internal Study Assistance)
  4. Drafts, compiles, and submits ad-hoc and compliance reports (including the Annual Training Report and Workforce Skills Plan).
  5. Track and record Seta initiatives, grants and benefits available to the business.
  6. Share with site offices, and all employees in the main offices, concerning events and grants being offered at the Seta.
  7. Capture data and information on the system to ensure all requirements as per business and statutory reports are met, information is updated and accessible.
  8. Administration of the Learner Management systems (LMS).
  9. Update periodically for study grants received and paid.
  10. Record and update planned versus actual training completed.
  11. Contribute information to demonstrate progress towards the achievement of desirable BBBEE:SD & EE levels
  12. Assist in the management of customer expectations and requirements to deliver effective and efficient Training services to the business in line with company values and standards.
  13. Takes responsibility of customer complaints and uses technical knowledge and insight to resolve and escalate issues and problems correctly and timely.
  14. Meet customer satisfaction through the provision of information and reports timely.

Minimum Qualification/s

  • Matric and Diploma in Training and Development (NQF5 equivalent)

Preferred Qualification/s

  • Matric and Diploma in Training and Development (NQF5 equivalent)
  • Registered Education, Training and Development Practitioner (ETDP)

Experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ administration experience in a training and development activities
  • Experience in SETA’s workings, reporting and related grants.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the mining industry will be advantageous
  • Previous experience in contributing to verification audits in line with BBBEE Act will be advantageous

Knowledge

  • Understanding of the Skills Development Act, SETA’s mandates, its practices and application on the job, the Mining Qualification Authority (MQA)
  • Fair understanding and application of the MPRD Act, MHS Act,
  • Good understanding and application of the LRA, BCEA and labour relations applicable policies and procedures.

  • SDF or ETDP Registration for future growth
  • Drivers License
