Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned, action-orientated Stores Supervisor & Purchaser to work within our Production Team, to ensure that our inventory is managed correctly and components ordered timeously to meet the needs of our manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research, investigation, development and implementation of automated stock control & PO requisition systems within the company
  • Conducting of regular inventory audits
  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS)
  • Purchasing of required components as per BOM for al products
  • Kitting of manufacturing run as per BOM requirements for all products
  • Maintaining reports of purchases, pricing and suppliers database
  • Enter purchase details (vendors information, invoices and pricing) into internal databases
  • Track shipments and address any delays
  • Oversee storage of products, particularly of fragile items
  • Evaluate suppliers’ offers and negotiate profitable deals
  • Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments)
  • Ensure purchases do not exceed budget

Skill requirements:

  • 8 to 12 years experience
  • Proven work experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Manager or similar role
  • Track record of implementing automated stock control procedures, systems and tools in a manual operating environment
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. NetSuite or TradeGecko)
  • Active participation in inventory audits
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and negotiation abilities
  • BSc in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
