A vacancy has arisen for a Ward Theatre Administrator position reporting to the Unit Manager, Nozipho Mtshali. The successful candidate will contribute towards the optimal functioning of the nursing team through effective: interdepartmental liaising, communication and Administrative support to the nursing team.
Critical Outputs
  • Ensure optimal service levels whilst understanding and striving to achieve targets.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training as scheduled.
  • Ensuring a safe environment in all areas of the unit through staying up to date with safety standards and protocols. Knowledge of emergency plans and actions.
  • Elimination of medico legal risks through the correct identification and filing of patient’s documentation.
  • Maintenance of a positive appearance and behavior, within and outside hospital relation.
  • Friendly and helpful client service.
  • Professional secrecy and discretion during contact with customers and colleagues.
  • Ensuring of effective communication between customers and colleagues.
  • Support nursing staff by ensuring safe stock levels in the unit, to enable them to render professional and ethical nursing care to the patient
  • Assist in cycle counts and monthly stock takes achieving stock targets
  • Assist stock controller in consignment and loan set co-ordination
  • Maintain effective management of Surgical and Anesthetic preference cards and templates
  • Effective monitoring of the e-billing dashboard and action errors
  • Effective capturing of procedure and items for the electronic theatre register
  • Assist in cycle counts and monthly stock takes achieving stock targets
  • Capture procedure for Case Management
  • Support Unit Manager in ensuring 100% billing of ward stock and non-recoverable stock items as well as management of negative stock by adhering to e-billing processes
  • General administrative experience – at least 1 year
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (excel, word) is essential.
  • Co-coordinating of bookings and patient transport.
  • Management of ebilling process
