AVI Ltd. is known for its leading household brands across many categories including hot beverages, sweet and savory biscuits, and snacks, frozen convenience foods, personal care products, cosmetics, shoes, accessories, and fashion apparel.
Logistics Support Services is a support function to the AVI Group for distribution purposes. LSS has six Distribution Centres located in Isando, Polokwane, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, East London, and a central Planning Office based in Bryanston. The Distribution Centres are responsible for the distribution of all AVI products i.e. Biscuits, Snacks, Coffee, etc.

AVI Logistics Support Services seeks an honest, trustworthy and experienced Transport Clerk to take on the responsibility at Redhill Distribution Centre to ensure the execution of duties within the Transport Department. An Early/Late shift pattern will apply, on a weekly rotational basis.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Fleet Management
  • Reporting – Failed delivery report, Transport labour report, Vehicle odometer report, updating Vehicle Activity Report
  • Loading of vehicles
  • Booking delivery slot times
  • Customer turnaround time spreadsheet
  • Ensure pallet procedure is adhered too
  • Reconciliation of fuel reports
  • Debrief Drivers
  • Check and Repair minor faults
  • Inspection of Fleet
  • Same day feedback to queries and dispute resolution within 24 hours
  • Assist with testing and on-route evaluation of the drivers
  • Assist with accidents/incidents investigations
  • Assist with practical driver skills assessments prior to employment and ongoing skills improvement
  • Allocation of vehicles according to customer delivery plan
  • Vehicle licensing and COF
  • License and PDP validation
  • Dispatching of vehicles and transport staff
  • Vehicle checklist
  • Monthly vehicle audits

Minimum Requirements:

Experience required:

  • Two to three years admin experience
  • Dispatch experience would be advantageous

Qualifications required:

  • Completed Matric or equivalent

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Code 14 and PRDP (Professional Driving Permit) – Mandatory
  • Code 14 driving experience
  • Knowledge of QMS systems
  • Knowledge of Durban & surrounding areas
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Management systems
  • General vehicle technical knowledge
  • Own reliable transport essential
