Job Advert Summary	Rand water is looking for a candidate who will be able to manage the transport function and promote effective management of long term and day-to-day activities with the purpose of compliance to Rand Water policies and procedures and to ensure an effective and comprehensive fleet of vehicles and plant equipment as well as loyal and well-motivated staff in order to ensure that customer needs are met to their satisfaction
Minimum Requirements	• Matric or equivalent • Diploma in Road Transportation. • Management diploma • Code B drivers licence • 10 years’ relevant experience in a Fleet environment of which 5 years is in management role
Primary Duties	• Establish, monitor and maintain a quality transport service • Initiate follow up and corrective action regarding vehicle/plant damage/losses • Charge-out system correctly & effectively applied • Provide a full spectrum of fleet management and management service for all Rand Water vehicles & plant equipment • Fleet control and stock management • Economical vehicle and plant equipment maintenance • Co-coordinating the department’s budget expenditure and variances • Formulate and manage the departments supplementary and operating budgets • Provide budget advice to Stations and Depots • Motivate budget requirements and needs • Ensure compliance with the financial regulations and standards of Rand Water • Ensure correct allocation of Cost Codes and budget • Demonstrate leadership style which facilitates achievement of Employment Equity objectives and targets • Comprehensive reports and advice (Technical, managerial and strategic)
Knowledge	• Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental knowledge • ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 • Budget Management • Relevant legislation • Sound Management principles • Relevant technical mechanical skills • Computer literate in SAP,MS suit, Maximo.
