Appointment Requirements:
 Matric plus a Degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning or Traffic Engineering or Transport
Management (NQF level 7);
 3 – 5 years’ experience post degree in the transport field, with at least 2 years in traffic engineering,
transport planning and project management;
 Experience in Multi modal Transport Planning;
 Experience in Traffic Engineering;
 Knowledge of Transport legislation and Transport Policy, Transport guidelines;
 Computer literacy on Transport Planning &Traffic Engineering Software and MS Office applications;
 Must have a valid Code 8 driver’s license.
Primary Function: Provide a specialist support service in the implementation and monitoring of
Integrated Transport Plans, Public Transport Plans, Non-Motorised Transport Plans and CoJ Transport
Policies and Strategies.
Key Performance Areas: Conduct audit/investigations on the performance of the Transport System in
various nodes of the City’s. Prepare project plans for the implementation of all Transport Systems
Management projects. Develop sound costing for Transport Systems Management projects for funding
requests for implementing planning projects. Ensure effective stakeholder consultation in the planning
and implementation of the Transport Systems Management related projects. Assess the impact of
proposed development applications on the City’s Transport System. Evaluate the impact of received land
sale or leasing applications on the City’s Integrated Public Transport Network Plan. Evaluate the impact of
the security access restriction applications in line with the CoJ’s Security Access Restriction Policy, 2018.
Monitor the implementation of the Transport Systems management Sub Directorate projects. Manage and
maintain the Transport System Information Register.

business operations and financial matters.
Core Competencies: High level of interpersonal skills, Management, Computer literacy, Numeracy and
report writing.
